Wednesday Night Bike Polo: Hump Day Relief

It’s Wednesday y’all, and you know what that means… or at least you do if you ever check this!

This lovely weather has us all stoked to get some great polo time in, and Trav and Dave have been so busy lately they’ve been missing out on their fix too. They’ll both be in attendance tonight, and everyone is frantically trying to get some more players in for tonight. We’ll be meeting and playing at Reynolds Middle School at 6pm.

Come out and get some relief from hump day and get prepped for the upcoming end of the week Polo-Style.

You must admit, it’s a shame to waste this lovely weather on staying in tonight. Mount your bike and join us at 6 pm at Reynolds.

Robot is even getting some sun so he looks good tonight at polo, he can’t wait!

Wednesday Night Bike Polo

Alright, It’s Wednesday, and that means it’s Mallet Mayhem time at Reynolds Middle School on Nevin St. Plan for 7pm to be “start” time, but folks will likely gather around 6pm or so, if you feel so inclined.

Come out for some fun polo action and enjoy the great weather we’ve got these days!

Note: There is a scheduling change for the “Good Weather” season as to when we play on weekends. Instead of Sundays, we will plan to play on Saturdays weekly at Reynolds Middle School. Times vary, as we’re a fairly causal bunch, but aiming for 12 NOON is a good idea. If the weather is poor, aka raining, We’ll likely play at the Elm St. Garage instead, which may suggest moving polo to Sunday, or if whether is better on Sunday… you get the idea.

Overview of Weekly Schedule

We usually play twice each week, Sunday Afternoons, and Wednesday Evenings.

Times vary, locations have recently changed back to original locations, and exact start time is usually up for debate.

A recap: Come out for Bike Polo on Sundays or Wednesdays…

Sundays: Reynolds Middle School, 12ish - 5 ish (or anywhere in there…) If it is raining, then the location is moved to the Elm St. Garage.

Wednesdays: Reynolds Middle School 6ish - 8 or 9ish

The norm is that we have extra mallets, and you can even buy one for $4, to have one.

Wednesday Night Bike Polo

Looks like the rain is going to hold off!

Polo at Binn’s Park tonight starting at 7 pm (officially). The winter has screwed those stupid soft bricks they have it laid with, but it may work to our advantage to keep the ball from rolling off into the street. So…

LET’S ROCK SOME BIKE POLO!

see you soon.

Wednesday Night Bike Polo: Mallet Mayhem

We’ve been blessed with wonderful weather for the last week, and it’s not turning back on yes just yet!  Come out for Wednesday Night Bike Polo in Lancaster City. Plans are for some polo action around 6 pm tomorrow evening at either Binn’s Park on Queen St. or at Reynold’s Middle School on Nevin St.  Watch for an updated post tomorrow afternoon with more details. Bring your game, an attitude of fun, and a mallet if you have it… if not, we’ll cover you this time ;)

A blizzard this time… no wednesday bike polo.

For the few that follow, or even see this page, you’ve likely noticed that Lancaster is currently covered in a blizzard.  It should be assumed that bike polo across from Binn’s Park is not scheduled for this evening. However, you can enjoy a snapshot of our presence there last week. The cold keeps many away, but we still play…

Feb 04

We play Hardcourt Bike Polo. We ride bikes… for fun. We ride bikes for a lifestyle. We ride bikes for a purpose. Yes, most of us have cars, but we are conscious of our impact and considerate with our actions and choices. This is our moment to motivate those with the power to make the change. This is not a normal post, but it is a necessary post.

Some pics from Sunday’s showing at Elm St.

The poor attendance resulted in some creative 3v3 playtime between Kyle, Matt, and David, but it was fun times for all nonetheless.

Thanks to Meghan Hoover, for hanging out with us, and taking some great photos. She even hopped on to roll around on Dave’s bike too. Now that’s commitment.

Tonight we’ll be meeting up at Binn’s Park at 6pm. If you’re coming, come promptly, because we’re rolling to a new location. Hope to see more folks out rolling with us!

Currently we gather twice a week (those who can make it regularly enough) to play some Lancaster Hardcourt Bike Polo. We’d love to have you join, or come just to watch.
Sundays @ 2pm at the Elm St. Parking Garage (map)
Wednesdays @ 7pm across from Binn’s Park (map)
No worries if you’ve never played, or if you think you’re ill-equipped for such fun! We always have extra mallets, and we even offer them for purchase for an affordable $4. If you’ve never played, no worries, because we’re kind, teaching fixie riders who enjoy playing bike polo and always welcome more players. We enjoy our time playing, and it is a fun activity for us - do not be worried we’ll pound you like some messenger players have a reputation for… that is not us.
Note: A fixed gear bicycle is not necessary for playing, but in our opinion, is much easier to play with than a freewheeled bicycle.
